Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data OfferPrep collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. We have written it to match how the site actually works.

What we collect
At the moment we do not collect or store any personal data about you. There are no accounts. Your progress (best scores, streaks, saved mistakes and settings) is saved only in your own browser, using its local storage. We cannot see it, and clearing your browser data deletes it.
Services that deliver the site
Like any website, the site is delivered by other services, which receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser loads a page: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Google Fonts (fonts), and jsDelivr and cdnjs (code libraries). They use it to deliver and protect the site. If we turn on Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, it works without cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
If this changes
We plan to add optional accounts, university leaderboards and friend groups. Before we do, we will update this notice to explain what we collect, why, and your choices.
Your rights
Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete: your progress is in your own browser, and you control it. If you have a concern about how the site handles data, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Age
The site is for people aged 18 and over.
What we collect
- A guest ID. When you first play, the site creates an anonymous account ID so your scores can be saved. It is not linked to your name or email.
- Your account, if you create one. Your email address and password. Your password is stored by our sign-in provider as a one-way hash, so nobody at OfferPrep can see it.
- Your profile, if you add one. How you want your name shown on leaderboards (your automatic name, or your first name and last initial) and, optionally, your university, country and graduation year.
- How you play. For each game: the mode, score, points, number of questions, time taken and the date. For each question: whether you got it right and the answer you typed. Questions you get wrong are saved so you can practise them. We also keep your daily streak: its length, your best streak and the last day you played.
- Friend groups you create or join.
- Reports you send about questions, including any note you add.
- Text sent for AI marking. In Deal Tower and Case Room, if AI marking is switched on and you choose to use it, your typed answer and the question are sent to our AI provider to be marked. Pitch Room does not use AI: you mark your own answers.
- Usage counters. How many AI markings you have used today, so we can apply the daily limit, and your plan if you have been given Pro access.
- Reports you send. If you report a name or a question, what you tell us and which name or question it was about.
- Email settings and a record of the weekly emails we have sent you, if you turn them on.
- Technical data. Our hosting and database providers process your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and keep it secure, and may use them to check for automated abuse.
We do not ask for, and you should not include, sensitive information such as health details in anything you type.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. The AI marking of practice answers is feedback only.
Who can see what
Your leaderboard name, your university (if you add one) and your points appear on the public leaderboards. Your leaderboard name is an automatic name such as SwiftFalcon42, unless you choose to show your first name and last initial instead. Friend group scoreboards are visible to members of that group. Your email address, password, typed answers, saved mistakes and any reports you send are never shown to other players.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run the site. They process data on our behalf and only as we instruct:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security and bot protection, and, if switched on, privacy-friendly visitor statistics that do not use cookies.
- Supabase: our database and sign-in system, hosted in .
- Resend: sending emails, only if you turn emails on.
- Anthropic: AI marking in Deal Tower and Case Room, when it is switched on. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, the text we send is not used to train its models, and Anthropic deletes it within 30 days.
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs: they supply fonts and code libraries to your browser, so they receive your IP address when pages load.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, other countries, including the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or the UK-US data bridge where the provider is certified under it.
Storage on your device
The site uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your settings, best scores and which questions you have seen recently. Cloudflare may also set a strictly necessary security cookie. These are needed for the site to work, so we do not ask for consent. If we turn on Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, it works without cookies and does not follow you across other websites. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Adverts use cookies and similar technology, as explained under "Advertising" below, and we ask for your consent before any are used for personalised ads. Clearing your browser data signs you out, and ends a guest account for good unless you created a full account.
Advertising
The site is free because it shows adverts, provided by Google through its AdSense service. Adverts appear on pages such as the home page, never in the middle of a timed game.
- Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technology to show adverts, measure them and prevent fraud, based on your visits to this site and other websites.
- When you first visit, a consent message from Google lets you accept or refuse personalised adverts. If you refuse, you may still see adverts that are not based on your browsing. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link in that message, and manage Google's use of your data at adssettings.google.com.
- We do not give advertisers your name, email address, answers or scores.
- Google is a separate controller for the data it collects through adverts. Its privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
How long we keep it
- Account data, scores, answers and saved mistakes: until you delete your account.
- Guest accounts: deleted automatically after 6 months without use.
- AI marking usage counters: 90 days.
- The record of weekly emails sent: about 13 months.
- Question reports: until we have dealt with them, then up to 12 months. If you delete your account first, the report is kept without your account details.
- Name reports: deleted 12 months after they are dealt with.
Our providers may keep backups or logs for a short time after deletion, under their own security and retention rules.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, move it to another service, and withdraw consent at any time. You can download or delete everything from your account page. You can also email . We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please complain to us first at . We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, and tell you the outcome without undue delay. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EU, you can contact your local data protection authority.
Age
OfferPrep is for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will delete it.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when the site changes. If a change is significant, we will tell signed-in users on the site or by email.
